How do I begin therapy?
The first courageous step is to make contact and arrange a time that we can chat about your concerns. This chat is known as the assessment appointment and starts the process. The assessment is not so clinical as in attending a GP or hospital, neither is it interrogative, intrusive or invasive. It is simply the space where we look at your history leading up to you choosing to seek help. A platform for us to decide how best we might work together going forwards, a chance to talk about confidentiality (NB for security notes are handwritten only, stored and securely archived), receive a clear overview of the options available and discover what therapy really looks like. If we choose to continue, review takes place approximately every six weeks.
